SCAM TELEPHONE CALLS - BEWARE

Patients have reported receiving scam phone calls where the caller claims to be from our GP practice.

The caller might say something like  "if you do not update your records over the phone, you will be removed from the practice list".  They may ask for personal information, such as your address, NHS number, or bank details.

Please be assured:

• WE WILL ONLY call you from our official practice phone number — if you’re unsure, hang up and call us back using the surgery practice number listed on our website.
• WE WILL NEVER threaten to remove you from our patient list during a phone call, unless our zero-tolerance policy has been breached, and never due to you not sharing information.
• WE WILL NEVER ask for any financial information.

 What You Can Do:

• If you are unsure whether a call is genuine, end the call and ring the practice directly.
• Report suspected fraud to the NHS Counter Fraud Authority at:  https://cfa.nhs.uk/report-fraud

OUR APPOINTMENT SYSTEM HAS CHANGED

The new system is called PATIENT TRIAGE and is being adopted by all GP surgeries.  So how does it work?

Patients requesting an appointment, or need to contact us for any other reason, will now have to firstly provide information about their needs online.  This important information will be delivered to us using an on-line form via Smartphone, Tablet, Computer, or our Website:

The information will help our GPs direct patients to the most appropriate professional to help with their needs.  We aim to get back to you the same day, to tell you the next course of action, which will either be to book a face-to-face appointment, a telephone appointment, or you will be given advice. If a patient does not have on-line access, our staff will assist by completing the form.

Patient Triage is already working well in many surgeries. It ensures that healthcare resources are more effectively allocated to patients and waiting times are reduced for those with urgent medical needs.

For urgent clinical appointments, please call us or visit the practice so we can assist you as soon as possible.
